ST ANDREW, Jamaica – A 63-year-old American man died yesterday after he was injured when a coaster bus slammed into a bus stop on Half-Way-Tree Road in St Andrew, where he was standing.
He has been identified by the police as Micheal Nilluneary.
Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit are that Nilluneary was at the bus stop when a driver of a coaster bus lost control of the motor vehicle and crashed into the bus stop.
Nilluneary was taken to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Two passengers were also injured in the crash.
The driver of the coaster bus, who escaped injury, is now in police custody.
